comprehensive brand identification programs cannot be confined to what is traditionally considered promotional material. represented here are portions of extensive projects by joe miller's company for HP including icons representing functionality within a secure banking and PIN generation application; and a splash screen, access control smart-cards, and data entry screen for a secure compliance and reporting application for the energy industry.
icons were optimized for 31x31 pixel buttons within the application. "on" and "off" states were produced for each of the four function areas. the system is published in the book 1,000 Icons, Symbols, and Pictograms: Visual Communications for Every Language, from Rockport Publishers, 2006.
materials for the energy compliance project include powerpoint templates and trade show signage. smart card designs include areas for the integration of an implanted microchip and barcode imprints. joe worked extensively with HP product engineers and marketing executives to fulfill communication needs within a range of practical constraints.
